Putting My Values and Experience to Work

I am Tami Gouveia. I am a principled leader, social worker, policymaker, and doctor of public health. I have dedicated my life to catalyzing equitable health, dignity, and opportunity for all. And, I believe that when we work together, we deepen our sense of connection to each other which inspires us to work together to build a future so that everyone can thrive.

More About Me

Inclusive, Principled Leadership

While growing up in the city of Lowell, Massachusetts in the 1970s and 1980s, I became acutely aware of the disparate impacts that policies, programs, and practices have on the well-being of individuals and families, especially low-income, Black and Brown, immigrant, and single-parent households. These experiences and observations inspired me to become a public health social worker. Over the last 25 years, I have secured progressively senior leadership positions in non-profit, philanthropic, and policymaking organizations. I completed a Doctorate in Public Health Management, Leadership, and Policy from Boston University in 2020, while serving as a State Representative in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and raising my two children as a single mother. During my 2021-2022 campaign for Lieutenant Governor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, I shared my vision for advancing the health, well-being, and dignity of all.
